A call for cohort one

We’re opening the Flowspect beta with twelve seats. Twelve because we want to actually talk to each person, not run a Slack channel and hope feedback bubbles up. The first cohort sets what the product becomes, and we’d rather get that wrong with twelve people than half-right with two hundred.

There’s a version of this that runs as a public sign-up with a waitlist and a launch date. That’s the version where we’d spend the next three months building features for an imaginary inspector. We don’t want that.

What we’re asking

Fifteen minutes to set you up before your first real inspection. One debrief once you’ve run a few. After that, you reach out when you’ve got something to say. We’re not going to ask you to sit on a standing call when you could be working.

No NDAs, no exclusivity. If Flowspect isn’t working for you, we’ll help you wrap up cleanly. Your reports and templates are yours regardless of how this goes.

In return: cohort one is free during the beta, and beta members get an additional six months at $0 once paid plans open. We import templates from Spectora today; if you’re on HomeGauge, Hive, or something else, you’re the first inspector we build the importer with.

Who we want in cohort one

Solo inspectors or small shops doing somewhere between five and forty inspections a month. People who care what the report looks like when it lands on a buyer’s phone. People willing to tell us a feature is bad when it’s bad, not after a polite delay.

The product today has voice and photo capture in the field, an editor for organizing findings, and a public report buyers open on their phone. Most of the writing happens during the walkthrough, so you finish by reviewing rather than starting from scratch. What we don’t know yet is what breaks when a real inspector puts it through twenty inspections in a month. That’s what cohort one is for: we’d rather find the gaps with twelve people we can act on, than two hundred who told us once and moved on.
